From the Boston Herald:
At the request of U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich and another minor candidate who got only 44 votes, New Hampshire officials will conduct a hand recount of the Democratic and Republican presidential primaries.

Happy New Year! Time for a change of scenery. I wasn’t planning on this, but I was working at Church this morning and things were going well. Bill was back (our Lead Pastor, he was sick last weekend), he was talking about God’s Grace and I was finally starting to feel it for the first time in weeks. It felt so good I wanted to share it. So I asked my good friend Les Faires, he’s the Media Director on staff at Neighborhood Church, if I could shoot a few pictures with my phone. He said sure, go ahead, so I’ve posted some shots of the video control room in action. This is where we edit the video for the video podcast as well as the video venues at church on Sunday. We have overflow services they call “video venues”. One of them has no live worship music, so we shoot the worship music for them at the early service on Sunday. The video podcast can be seen anywhere in the world with an internet connection, and you don’t need an iPod. You can watch it on your computer. Read more »
The Plaza vs. City Hall
My son is a punk. I know he doesn’t mind me calling him a punk, but I hope he doesn’t mind me calling him son. Technically, Christian is my stepson. Anyhow, I’m proud of him. He runs with the non-conformist crowd (I tried to explain to him how oxymoronic that is, but he doesn’t care), just like I did when I was a young man.
A few weeks ago, a new all-ages music venue opened up in town about 200 yards from our apartment. He loved it because all the local hardcore bands finally had a place to play and he could walk there in about a minute. His mom Karri and I loved it because if anything went wrong he could get home, or we could get there, real quick.
The Plaza was open for a couple, three weeks, I don’t know, and then the “authorities”, the “powers that be”, pulled the plug. The city’s position was that they had first approved the business license and zoning approval and all that, but then, well, mistakes were made. You see, there were other citizens who weren’t happy with the situation. There was a lot of back and forth about why, and who was at fault. Christian was one of the punks who emailed the city in protest. And the city responded. Well, just watch the video…
This is part one of five parts. We posted the entire meeting on YouTube. If you want to see the rest of the meeting, just go to youtube.com and search on “scottkarri”. I’ll update this post as the story develops.
Shock Collar
We have a six month old black lab puppy. A few weeks ago we bought her a training collar. I figured if we were going to train her with a shock collar, I should know what it feels like. This one had four levels of, well, pain. And I’ll tell you what, there’s a big jump between levels one and two. I didn’t want to get acquainted with level three. We took it back and got a different model that has ten levels. I can tolerate a four with no problem. It gets your attention right away, though.
